2022 Reserve Whiskey Petite Sirah
Our 3rd bottling of this unique Petite Sirah and perfectly in line with our style. Aromas of dark chocolate, maple syrup, Luxardo cherries, stewed plums and white pepper. On the palate, the wine shows off rich round tannin structure and perfectly balanced acidity. Concentrated flavors of black licorice, dark chocolate, black cherry, and cassis are up front. A meal of a wine.
Our second bottling of this fun wine starts with a pitch-black base, lightening to electric red at the rim. Aged in Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whiskey barrels provides aromas of chocolate mint, maple syrup, boysenberry jam, and licorice. Dark flavors of anise, muddled blackberries, tobacco, and charcoal are apparent. Aggressive tannins will soften with time, but a massive wine in all directions!
